Starting from January 1, 2024, health insurance policies in India will be required to provide a concise summary of coverage details, waiting periods, limits, and exclusions in a customer information sheet (CIS). Policyholders will also have a 15-day "free-look" period to cancel their cover if they suspect mis-selling. The aim is to increase transparency and policyholder awareness.
